Pecron 500W Car Charger (12–30V, 50A)

The Pecron 500W Car Charger from Pecron is a high-performance DC-to-DC charger designed to efficiently charge your power station from a vehicle or standalone battery.

Application

This charger enables fast charging from your vehicle, significantly reducing charge times compared to a standard 12V power outlet (formerly known as a cigarette lighter outlet).

Charging a power station through a 12V outlet typically takes 10–20 hours at ~100W. In contrast, the Pecron car charger delivers up to 500W, allowing your power station to reach a full charge in as little as 2–4 hours.

In-built cooling:  Over heating is a common issue with car chargers. Unlike some other car chargers, this unit comes with an in-built fan to keep the device cool while charging, which addresses the heating issue.

The Pecron 500W Car Charger is also compatible with many other power station brands.

Items Included

  • MC4 connector
  • Built-in fuse protection
  • 15 ft cable
  • Battery jumper cables
  • Positive cable with integrated fuse and terminal lugs

Setup

  1. Set Startup Voltage
Configure the startup voltage so the charger operates only when the vehicle is running.
    • Example: For a 12V car battery, set it to 13.5V
This ensures the charger draws power only when the alternator is active, preventing battery drain.
  2. Connect to Battery
Attach the positive and negative terminal lugs to the corresponding battery terminals.
  3. Connect to Power Station
Connect the MC4 output to the MC4-to-XT90 high-current DC cable, then plug the XT90 connector into your power station.
  4. Start Charging
Charging should begin within a minute or two after the vehicle’s alternator engages.

Other Configurations

  • Compatible with various third-party power stations
  • Can be used with standalone batteries, including:
    • 12V or 24V lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO₄) batteries
