SunModo SunTurf Universal Pipe Cap Pipe Cap with swivel for 2" & 2.5"
The SunModo SunTurf Universal Pipe Cap is designed to act as the structural structural link between the ground-anchored vertical posts and the horizontal pipe beams in a SunTurf Ground Mount or Flat Roof Elevated racking system.
Its primary purpose is to adapt standard schedule 40 structural steel pipes into a rigid multi-axis framework that supports solar rail integration.
Post-to-Beam Connection: It mounts securely to the top of a vertical ground post (vertical pier) and provides a heavy-duty saddle/clamp mechanism to drop in and lock down the horizontal cross-pipe (the horizontal beam).
Dual-Size Multi-Compatibility: The universal design accommodates both 2" and 2.5" Schedule 40 steel pipes. It uses integrated sizing adapters or dual-machined slots so a single SKU handles both common structural pipe sizes on a job site.
Terrain Adaptability (Swivel Adjustment): The cap features a swivel/tilt mechanism. This allows the horizontal beam to run smoothly even if the ground terrain slopes. It accommodates up to a 27% slope East-West and helps easily square up the structure before tightening down.
Structural Load Transfer: It safely transfers high downward pressure (snow loads) and upward pressure (wind uplift) from the solar array down into the ground anchors (whether using concrete piers, ground screws, or augers).
Bottom Interface: Slides over the top of the embedded 2" or 2.5" vertical vertical post and is locked in place using dual set bolts.
Top Interface: Receives the horizontal 2" or 2.5" pipe beam, which is secured by a top U-bolt/clamp assembly to prevent lateral sliding or rotation.
Once the pipe caps align the horizontal beams across the structure, the solar rails (like the SMR300 series) are attached perpendicularly across those horizontal pipes to hold the PV modules.
