SKU: APS-DS3
Mfg. SKU: DS3
APsystems DS3 Microinverter
Overview
Mounts on standard solar rails behind each panel, converting DC into clean 240 V AC for Canadian grid-tie systems.
Two independent PV inputs optimize up to two panel strings—each string tracked separately for mixed orientations or partial shade.
Key Features & Specifications
Dual PV Inputs & MPPT
Two independent MPPT channels track “sweet-spot” voltage (32 V–55 V within a 26 V–60 V operating range), harvesting up to 99.5 % of panel potential.
Maximum input current: 20 A per channel.
Module Compatibility
Panel power range: 300 Wp–660 Wp+
Maximum open-circuit voltage (Voc): 60 V
AC Output
Continuous power: 880 VA at 240 V, 60 Hz (3.7 A nominal)
Adjustable power factor: ±0.7
Maximum units per branch: 4 on a 20 A circuit; 6 on a 30 A circuit
Efficiency
Peak conversion efficiency: 97 %
CEC-weighted efficiency: 96.5 %
MPPT efficiency: 99.5 %
Night power draw: 20 mW
Durability & Safety
Operating temperature: –40 °F to +149 °F
NEMA 6–rated enclosure with passive (fan-free) cooling
Built-in protection: over/under-voltage & frequency (UL 1741, CSA C22.2)
Installation & Monitoring
MC4 plug-and-play connectors for fast, tool-free wiring
ZigBee communication to APsystems EMA portal for real-time, panel-level monitoring
Mechanical Specifications
Dimensions: 10.3″ × 8.6″ × 1.6″
Weight: 5.7 lb
Fun Fact & Sizing Tip
Solar panel voltage drops on hot summer days and spikes on cold winter mornings.
Keep Voc at least 25 % below the 60 V max (aim for ~45 V) to allow cold-weather headroom and avoid over-voltage trips.
Why It’s Ideal for Canadian Solar
Maximizes net-metering and rebate programs (Ontario, Alberta, B.C., Québec, Canada Greener Homes Grant)
Lowers energy bills by squeezing extra kWh from every panel
Provides carbon-tax relief by generating clean power to offset Canada’s carbon levy
